DESCRIPTION Carl has been a volunteer with AARP Maine for 10 years. He served as the Liaison to the MEA-Retired, as Volunteer State President, and is currently the Volunteer Congressional Liaison for AARP Maine. Carl will give an overview of AARP’s structure, including their charitable foundation, community events as well as advocacy work, highlighting AARP’s non-profit, non- partisan stance, which allows conversation focused on issues instead of party. He will also focus on various advocacy roles that might spark an interest in folks who would like to volunteer. These include letter writing to legislators, crafting letters to the editor, Kitchen Table Chats, Tuesdays at the State House (T@SH), legislative outreach both at the state and federal level.
